Powerspace - The Kicks of Passion - 2007

Falou que a gravadora é a Fueled By Ramen já é um motivo suficiente pelo menos para amar a banda, afinal 60% (pelo menos no meu caso) do que você escuta passa na mão deles: Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is... e váááários outros. :D
Então por que não escutar mais uma banda da mesma?
Powerspace faz um pop-punk/ powerpop bem eletrônico e fun. Como se tivessem misturado All Time Low e (levemente) os geniais e future-vintages, Daft Punk (não conhece o Daft Punk? :O Conhece sim, são aqueles ‘pseudos power rangers’ do clipe Stronger, do Kanye West... Mas são muito mais que isso. História, baby, história...).
Mas, se não curte o gênero powerpop, o cd pode ser enjoativo...

Simple Plan - Simple Plan - 2008

Sem dúvida a banda fez um CD para fugir das características músicais que a consagrou (e igualmente formou uma legião de odiadores), ou seja, o “pop-punk-meloso”. E ao contrário de muitas outras que trilham este mesmo caminho (Good Charlotte, por exemplo), a tentativa deu certo!
Este novo CD (que ainda não foi oficialmente lançado, e sim vazou) é uma ótima surpresa, com batidas eletrônicas não exageradas. E de fato de pop punk ele não tem nada, por dois principais motivos:
- Faixas mais distintas entre si, com arranjos melhor produzidos.
- Sem o exagero da infatilização da voz do vocalista, algo tão corriqueiro nesse ritmo (New Found Glory, por exemplo).
Atrevo-me a dizer que é o melhor CD da banda.
É um marco na história da música? Não. Mas quem é, em tempos de Myspace? Onde bandas inovadoras surgem e desaparecem aos montes, toda a semana...
